Poll: More than half of Democrats ‘mildly’ or ‘not that excited’ to vote for Biden

According to a new poll, Democrats are not that excited to be voting for former Vice President Joe Biden in November. Emerson College’s survey of 1,200 voters showed more than half of Democrats are “mildly excited” or “not that excited” to support Biden.

Voters cited his continued gaffes as a reason why they’re hesitant to support him.

    upload_2020-5-17_5-7-46.png

Nearly two thirds of Republicans are either “very or extremely excited” to reelect President Trump, while 57 percent of all voters believe he will win the election. Several remained largely disappointed in Democrat leadership, due to their apparent double standard in handling Tara Reade’s claim and allegations against other politicians.

President Trump has since highlighted his approval rating among Republicans and the nation as a whole. On Saturday, he announced over Twitter that he has a “96 percent approval rating in the Republican Party.”

He also cited a new Gallup poll, which reportedly showed he now has the highest ever approval rating overall and that he’s ahead of Biden.

The longer the lockdown, the longer the economy is frozen and the longer unemployment stays artificially high.

There is an incentive for US Democrats to keep this going for as long as possible . Americans tend to vote pocketbook.

The only question is who Americans will blame for this. If they want to return to work and they see the Democrats as blocking that...

It’s a quandary for Democrats. If the economy opens and goes back to historic highs then Trump will look the victor.

So mark my words, the economy will open and the economy will get much better and there will not be massive deaths. The Democratic spin will be that they reopened the economy after the threat passed and that they saved millions of lives.

The fact the governments were doing this all over the world because they were losing too much tax revenue just like in the States will be forgotten in the fog of this “crisis”

This and other stories are the result of many Blue State initiatives around the U.S..

Ore. salon owner fined $14K for reopening

An Oregon beauty salon owner is facing a $14,000 fine for reopening her business. Lindsey Graham, the owner of Glamour Salon in Salem, reportedly received the fee for defying lockdown orders, which have forced non-essential businesses to remain closed.

She claimed the move was out of a desperate attempt to provide for her family.

“I am being threatened, intimidated and bullied daily by the government. I’m very sad that this is the world we live in. I’m vowing to stay open as long as I can until the government basically tries to take my entire career, something I’ve worked 15 years, out from under me.” – Lindsey Graham, Glamour Salon owner

The salon owner stated she’s going to fight the penalties and, in the meantime, is planning to continue serving customers and providing for her family.

She has argued the fee does not apply because she has independent contractors, not employees, working at her salon.

People berate me for appealing to Occam’s razor but this is the classic example. It’s by far the simplest explanation. Using the tragic deaths of 4 out of 10,ooo deaths and mostly that of the very elderly to fill their agenda. Shameful doesn’t begin to cover it!!!

    Uh oh.
Lindsey Graham is about.to run into the bureaucratic equivalent of a buzz saw.

She said "independent contractor" and the state heard "employee paid under the table". Just wait Lindsey, your troubles are just beginning with the state, and all because you just wanted to provide for your family.

The key word here is "Clientele" Hairdressers take their clientele with them is they find a Salon that offer s a better deal. Its very common in that industry.

      Common, and irrelevant.
One case Shooter is familiar with involved strip clubs. You know, if the dancers were employees or not.
The regulations had 7 key points that determined the difference between employee and independent contractor. Don't want to bother digging them out, but they included:
Does the employee provide tools and materials needed to do the job
      Is there profit/loss potential
Does the employee have control over how the job is done
Does the employee determine hours of work and work location.

Ignoring the humor potential (the hearing officer told Shooter everyone had trouble not laughing with some of the testimony) the ruling was that dancers are indeed employees.

Strippers are not hairdressers, women are very particular about who does their hair, men are not particular about who shakes thier ass, Apples to Watermelon comparison. You have also answered the criteria about tools, materials , control and hours of work. Short of Witnesses, I rest my case!

      No, really.
You ought to look it up, the IRS and DOL struggle with this issue all the time, but it always comes down to "who can we count on to pay the taxes".

You might also check into the FedEx struggle with independent contractor definitions.

    Well, @FuntimeFla here ya go.

    Sighs.

    From the oregon.gov web site

    Contractor or Employee?
The Health Licensing Office (HLO) often receives questions about the difference between an employee and an independent contractor, particularly as it relates to whether the facility owner is required to pay unemployment taxes.

Under Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 690.005(10) for the Board of Cosmetology, an independent contractor is defined as a "... practitioner who qualifies as an independent contractor under ORS 670.600 and who is not under the control and direction of a facility license holder."

ORS 670.600, Occupations and Professions Generally, provides a more detailed definition of an independent contractor.

Generally, Oregon law requires employers to pay unemployment taxes on employee wages by filing Oregon Quarterly Tax Reports.

Individuals who meet the statutory definition of an independent contractor are not employees and their compensation for services is not taxable wages.

For more information, contact the Oregon Employment Department at 503-947-1488 or taxinfo@emp.state.or.us or visit www.oregon.gov/employ/tax.

Now Shooter did learn one thing: a stylist can declare themselves an independent contractor, apply for an IC license, pay the fees and taxes, and be an independent contractor.

But note, one way or the other, the gummit gets its taste of the action.

As far as Democratic hope fulls go, Biden is hiding in his cellar, as a coward. He is worse than G Dubya Bush for gaffes, and submits his authority to the PC police before opening his mouth to fuck up everything they told him to say!
However fucked up Trump might be, he is way better than Biden, No Question!

Sen. Sanders says ‘vast majority’ of supporters will vote for Biden

Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.) has said he thinks the vast majority of his supporters in the Democrat presidential primary will vote for presumptive nominee Joe Biden “at the end of the day.” During a recent interview, he suggested the former vice president needs to let working class people, young people and minorities know that he understands their situations.

The senator named college debt, health care and the minimum wage as issues he believes Biden needs to address.

Sanders stated he expects Biden to devise an agenda that will cater to the groups he is emphasizing.

“I think that Joe and his staff understand that,” he said. “I think they are going to reach out to our supporters and come up an agenda that speaks to the needs of working families, young families, minority communities.”

Recent polls showed 20 percent of Sanders’ supporters do not plan to vote for Biden. About 60 percent reported they are not excited about backing the former vice president.

Meanwhile, the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee is ramping up operations in battleground states. According to campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon, they are preparing for a major staffing expansion.

Top campaign officials predicted there will be more battleground states than in previous years. O’Malley Dillon noted she expects new campaign workers to reach out to voters face-to-face to prepare as social distancing measures ease.

This came after recent polls showed President Trump leading Biden in 15 battleground states by roughly 7 percent.

    Polls..polls...polls, love us some polls.

Dont it make you leftists feel much better about how you're all destroying the original intent of this country?

Doesn't it feel good to show the entire country that you're willing and able to fundamentally alter this country from it's original ideals?

Dont these polls enable you folks to act as foolish as you do?...also be able to repeat foolish leftist sound bites as if they're the gospel?

I for one love me some polls...I sure hope these polls remain as they are , suggesting the Democrats are leading...how I love me some polls that, suggest that...

Keep up all the good work and continue reminding us, along with the entire Nation that the Democrats are really connecting with the folks with these solid polls you always bring us..

Poor Nancy Antoinette had to swear in 2 spanky new deplorable representatives. You see, California (gasp) and Michigan (gasp) had special elections and the deplorable candidate won both races, taking two despicable seats away.

So now, 17 seats still needed to give deplorables control of the house.

Deplorables claim its a sign of momentum they're building and fallout from all things despicable.

Despicables of course claim just you wait. Just you wait and see.

Poll: 1/3 of Democrats Don’t Want Michelle Obama on Biden Ticket, Even if She Wanted to Run

A recently-released poll shows over a third of Democrat voters are against Joe Biden picking former first lady Michelle Obama as his running mate, even if she wanted to run on the ticket.

The CBS/YouGov found 65 percent of Democrats support Obama’s selection, given her consent, while a surprising 35 percent say they oppose it. With respect to black respondents, 70 percent approve a Biden-Obama ticket, while 30 percent do not. When it comes to independent voters, Obama’s support falls five points to 60 percent, with 40 percent saying they are against her being selected for the VP slot.

The same poll found Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) garners 36 percent support as Biden’s running mate, while Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) enjoys 19 percent, when respondents were given a list of names to choose from (Obama was excluded). Progressive activist Stacey Abrams placed third with 14 percent, and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) finished fourth at 13 percent.

The poll was conducted with a sample of 2,200 residents interviewed from April 28 to May 1, 2020.

The poll comes as a committee called “Draft Michelle Obama” is urging Biden to select the former first lady as his running mate.

“Joe Biden has said he would choose Michelle Obama as his running mate ‘in a heartbeat.’ The aim of this campaign is to build on the substantial grassroots support for a potential Michelle Obama candidacy and help garner media attention for a vice-presidential nominee who has the power to beat Donald Trump,” the group said in a statement earlier this month.

The committee is supported by Democratic fundraisers Mack Wilbourn and Nadine Hack, spokesperson Drew Zuckerman told The Hill.

Biden has repeatedly said he would pick Obama to be his running mate, affirming in an April interview that he would “take her in a heartbeat.”

“She’s brilliant. She knows the way around. She is a really fine woman. The Obamas are great friends,” the former vice president told CBS Pittsburgh.

Former second lady Jill Biden has echoed her husband’s praise of Obama, saying that she would make a “wonderful” vice president.

Despite some in top Democrat circles eager for Biden to pick Obama to make up for lagging enthusiasm plaguing the former vice president’s campaign, people close to the former first lady say that she has no interest in re-entering politics.

Former White House official Valerie Jarrett recently dismissed the idea, judging that there is “no chance” she would agree to join the ticket.

“The reason why I’m being so unequivocal is that there just simply has never been a time when she’s expressed an interest in running for office,” Jarrett told The Hill. “She’s not demurring here. She’s not being hard to get. She doesn’t want the job.”

I thought you patriot seers (understandably) disdain polls.

Woman doesn't want potential VP role. Others don't want her to have the job. Therefore little chance of her getting the job.
